Regional Conference of the Women Police Officers Networks

On 13 of October 2023, the SEPCA Member states from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation, Republic of Srpska, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro participated along with Slovenia at the Regional Conference "Women in the police and leadership – challenges and good practices" that took place in Belgrade, Serbia.

The event was organised by the Women Police Officers Network of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with UN Women and the International Bureau for Narcotics and Law Enforcement of the State Department of the American Embassy in Serbia.

Mr. Bratislav Gasić, Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia opened the Regional Conference and the Female ministers from the Serbian Government shared their challenges and good practices by empowering the participants through their examples.

During the event, Ms. Elena Gherta, Criminal Intelligence Service of Austria (BK), SEPCA Regional Coordinator presented the role of SEPCA in the region, cooperation between SEPCA and BK, as well as the idea of establishing SEPCA Women Police Officers Networks.

At the end of the Conference, the representatives from the region signed the “Declaration on cooperation and improving of the position of women and women’s networks in police from the Region”.
